Dr. Michael Donato Jr.

 
Dr. Donato is an Orthodontist. Orthodontists are specialists, who following four years of Dental School, continued for three more years of specialty study in the area of orthodontia, and dento-facial orthopedics at an accredited university.

Dr. Donato earned his dental degree and orthodontic certificate from the University of Medicine And Dentistry of New Jersey over a decade ago.  He graduated in the top 10% of his class, and was granted the orthodontic award for exceptional work in the subject of orthodontics, and the American Collage of Dentists award for outstanding professionalism while a student at UMDNJ.  Dr. Donato also completed a one year residency program at Staten Island University Hospital where he was awarded the "resident of the year" award in his graduating class.  He serves as the Section Chief of Orthodontics at New York Methodist Hospital.  He also is an attending orthodontist at Staten Island University Hospital, teaching new dentists all phases of orthodontics. Dr. Donato lectures to the residents and also at local dental meetings on various subjects in orthodontics.

Dr. Donato is a member in many professional organizations and serves admirably as a representative or officer in several. Dr. Michael Donato is a Diplomate of the American Board of Othodontics. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, New York State Dental Association, Northeastern Society of Orthodontists, Second District Dental Society, Richmond County Dental Society, Italian Dental Society, and is a Fellow in the International College of Dentists. He currently serves as the Vice President with the Richmond County Dental Society. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees with the Second District Dental Society, and is the council representative on the Council of Dental Practice for the New York State Dental Society. Dr. Donato is the district representative for the Oral Cancer Consortium and is the immediate-past boro-coordinator for National Childrens Dental Health Month with the Richmond County Dental Society. A position which he served for over ten years helping to promote dental awareness in the youth of Staten Island.

The Doctor regularly take Continuing Education courses, above what is recommended by the New York Education Department, to maintain the most current and effective treatment available.  The materials and equipment used in our office are the finest available, giving the Doctor a treatment advantage, and our patients the comfort in knowing they are receiving the highest quality orthodontic therapy available.

Our sterilization protocol sets the standard for the orthodontic industry.  Every instrument, supply, or material is either single-use, disposable, or sterilized in an autoclave, or ultra-high heat sterilizer.  We never use recycled orthodontic braces.
